Due to a rash of cheating/bots/multi-accounts/etc, I was wondering if it is time to reset the monkey game.
Resetting has been the goal since the beginning (this is still officially in beta game mode), but I was hoping to wait to reset until after all game functionality had been added.
Unfortunately, there has been an onslaught of people "not playing fair" (not mentioning any names) and that has taken up the time I was hoping to spend on adding new fun things to the game.
Two of the biggest additions in the works are:
1) monkey missions that open up skill trees
2) monkey troops (gangs)
I'll put it to you folks playing if you would like to reset or not, and if so, what is the best way to do it.

NOTE: Take all the comments you find on the site with a grain of salt. The unnamed cheat has found one more exploit and was able to post comments as other people. He/She obviously has waaaaay too much time on thier hands. Maybe they need a girlfriend/boyfriend/sheep.

 | grizz | Feb 07, 2006 5:38 PM I was thinking a monthly reset on the top trees, recording who had the top, but keeping stats and levels. Should probably do an initial complete wipe of stats, levels, and everything else though. |

Resetting once a month wouldn't stop the cheating it, though, it would just keep the scores lower. I'm for burning. Can you limit one account per computer? Cause then I wouldn't be tempted to cheat. | grizz | Feb 07, 2006 6:44 PM Sounds like a challenge to me :D Resetting the scores once a month makes it fun to see if you can be the month's top monkey, and makes it so that if someone gets hella far ahead it's not like it's going to take you 6 months to catch up to them. |

I'm fine with a reset, but at the same time if you're looking at adding new functionality maybe you could add some stuff to let us mess around and balance the new features before a reset?
